One of the great things about our team is how encouraging it is for new players to join. Vancouver is blessed with a rich juniors program, which results in quite strong rookie classes. But not all rookies are fresh out of high school. The T-Birds welcome all, including those who pick-up the sport in a more recreational setting, and then promote growth to the next level of competition. Christine has been with the team for the past 2 years, and has improved immensely and looks to make an impact in the Vancouver ultimate scene. Her perfectly timed under cuts and strikes demonstrate her major improvement in field awareness. Always a supportive teammate and always with a big smile on her face, Christine is a senior on the team who is always eager to learn and improve while making a big impact on the field.

How/when did you start playing ultimate?
I started three years ago playing VUL on a team called Angry Birds. Our cheer was flying in a V formation :)!
Who is your most influential player & why?
Catherine Hui, she’s incredibly focused and calm on the field. It’s always motivating to watch her play.
Favourite throw/ultimate play?
Catching it in the end zone after getting a block.
Any hobbies outside of ultimate?
I like crocheting and baking! If not for ultimate, I would be much fatter.
Have you played on any club/pro teams outside of TBirds?
With those pesky exams out of the way, Christine’s focus now turns to the USAU college series, starting with Northwest Regionals in Lynden, Washington this weekend (May 3-4). Check out our fundraising page for info on how to support Christine and the team, and even get some Thunderbird gear.
